Brimstone Butterfly ♀︎ (Gonepteryx rhamni) - Pieridae (20/08/2023) Southbank Barn, Henfield (in the garden on the aptly named Butterfly Bush). This is a female - they are much paler than the males.

Orange-Tip Butterfly ♂︎ (Anthocharis cardamines) - Pieridae (10/05/2009) Woods Mill Nature Reserve, Small Dole, Henfield, West Sussex. Nothing else quite like it. Males have their forewings tipped with orange but the females don't! The forewings are not properly visible here but you can just about make out a wash of orange and some of that forewing protruding beneath the wing this side - so it's a male.

Green-Veined White Butterfly (Pieris napi) - Pieridae (28/04/2007) Minsmere Nature Reserve, Suffolk (on Lilac). Not sure what gender this is - the female has 2 spots on each forewing, the male only one. Wiki says the veins on the wings of the female are more heavily marked, but I can't be sure. So I haven't assigned a gender to this one.

Small (Cabbage) White Butterfly ♂︎ (Pieris rapae) - Pieridae (20/08/2023) Southbank Barn, Henfield (in the garden on the aptly named Butterfly Bush).
Small (Cabbage) White Butterfly ♂︎ (Pieris rapae) - Pieridae (21/07/2006) Cuckmere Nature Reserve, Sussex (on a Common Mallow). Large white has bolder black markings on the forewing tips (and is larger).
Small (Cabbage) White Butterfly ♀︎ (Pieris rapae) - Pieridae (20/08/2023) Southbank Barn, Henfield (in the garden on the aptly named Butterfly Bush). It's a female because there are two spots on teh wings plus it is a more beige colour than males.
