Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) Family = "Troglodytidae" (26/05/2007) RSPB Pulborough Brooks, 500mm lens right into the woodland. The only member of Troglodytidae, the Wren is the next smallest bird on the British Isles to the Goldcrest and Firecrest. But my god has it got a voice, especially when doing an alarm call and telling you off!
Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) Family = "Troglodytidae" (26/05/2007) RSPB Pulborough Brooks, 500mm lens right into the woodland. Having a snooze now. They are insectivores. We often get them hopping around the gutters and roof gulleys which with all the trees here build up sludge, so lots of insects.
Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) Family = "Troglodytidae" (25/04/2007) Dritway, Upper Beeding, Steyning (signing from the willow tree in the garden), tricky shot due to lighting so did as a sillhouette! The male builds several nests from which the female can choose one, only then does the nest get lined!
Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) Family = "Troglodytidae" (28/06/2008) RSPB Pulborough Brooks. Having a good dustbath in the car park and not much bothered about me! It is apparently our most common breeding bird in the UK, though you wouldn't know as unlike this particular wren out in the open, they are usually skulkers!
