Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus) (16/04/2005) Driftway, Upper Beeding, Steyning (in the garden). Bit of an iffy shot as through glass and a foggy day. Unmistakeable - it's quite a large bird. This one has its feathers all ruffled to help with the cold. They always have these yellowy eyes. Can't really tell males and females apart unless you see them together, females being smaller.
