Common or Eurasian Crane (Grus grus) family "Gruidae" (01/04/2007) RSPB Pulborough Brooks, A treat to see this here and they seem to be starting to breed here as well. Numbers, even in Europe, have fallen because of shooting and wetland drainage. They are not a member of Ardeidae (Heron family) but in fact Gruidae (Crane family) but lumped under Herons for ease of file management!
Common or Eurasian Crane (Grus grus) family "Gruidae" (01/04/2007) RSPB Pulborough Brooks, It is properly far away - taken from the hide.
